Title
Nederland's Heeren Straat (Main Street) about 1903
Description
Photograph shows an early view of Main Street when cattle and men on horseback roamed Nederland. This is looking toward what is now 15th Street and you can just see the house built for Bradley Bell. On the left side of the street is the frame building which housed the first Nederland Pharmacy. Also a building identified with the signs "Paul Wagner" and "Hotel." The brick building is the First National Bank of Nederland which opened in 1903. On the right side is a sign which reads: "Fish Bros. Wagon Co."
Early Dutch settlers called this Heeren Street
