Description
Photograph shows a two-story wood frame house with a front and side porch. According to an article in the Port Arthur News, 14 Mar 1978, pg. 3D, Ola Mcauley, is the sister of Tex Ritter. Ritter lived with the McCauleys in the Nederland house during his teen-age years. The house was later owned by Ritter's brother, David. The home once faced Nederland Avenue and had an address of 1327 Nederland Avenue. In October 1962, Mr. Ritter obtained a permit to move back and turned it to face S. 14th Street. The address was then 119 S. 14th St.
"Home of W. K. McCauley built in 1922. This was during a snow in 1923 (I believe)."
