Nederland Independent School District Archive Collection

This collection contains the Marion and Ed Hughes Public Library's copies of the Nederland High School yearbooks and other publications from the high school. It also includes several publications provided by Nederland Independent School District. The materials uniquely reflect the educational experiences of students and teachers as well as some of the administrative actions of the school district over time.

The Library wishes to thank the Nederland Independent School District for partnering with us on this project. We also wish to thank Oklahoma Correctional Industries who digitized all of the yearbooks for free. Library staff converted the images to PDF files.

The Pilot -- Nederland High School annual
In 1927, the Nederland High School issued its first official yearbook, the Pilot. The library's online collection includes yearbooks dating from 1927 through 2015. Find class photos and information about clubs, faculty, athletic teams and other school-related activities in these complete editions that have been digitized. Discover if a relative or ancestor is pictured. Take a peak! The fashion changes alone are worth taking a look! Some yearbooks are missing and will be added when available. These include: 1932, 1933, 1935-1940. If you own one of these yearbooks and would like to loan or donate it to the Library, please contact us at 409-722-1255. We believe that yearbooks from 1943-1945 were not published due to WWII. Please note: that yearbooks from the most recent 5 years will remain off the internet to avoid publishing pictures of minors.

The Announcer -- Nederland High School paper According to an article found in the Peoples Press, 14 June 1929, pg. 1, the Announcer was first published in 1928. The paper was started with Francis Wagner as editor and contributors were the members of the Senior Class. The May issue of this publication for the years 1936-1939 are called the senior edition and can be used as a replacement for the missing yearbooks for those years. We do not know how long publication of the Announcer continued, The library has obtained copies of some of the issues, but we are missing quite a few years.
